UWS remains the top-ranked higher education institution in Scotland and within the 101-150 division of a prestigious league table outlining the world’s best young universities.
The Young University Rankings by Times Higher Education ranks universities established less than 50 years ago and is designed to demonstrate the impact these institutions are having on the world stage in years, rather than centuries, highlighting future rising stars.
The league table applies the same 13 rigorous performance indicators as the overall THE World University Rankings – with young universities measured across their teaching, research, citations (research influence), international outlook and industry income.
UWS’ overall score has improved this year and the University was also named in the millennial group at joint 28th in the world.
The University has also significantly improved its scores in the ‘engagement’ and ‘outcome’ categories of the Times Higher Education Europe Teaching Rankings for 2019, where it has maintained its overall position in the 201+ group from last year.
The recognition follows recent news that UWS also jumped eight places in The Guardian University Guide rankings for 2020, another trusted and independent source of rankings for UK universities.
