Stunning Science @UWSPaisley

Our School recently partnered with the Glasgow Science Festival to give local school pupils across Renfrewshire insight into how scientific research impacts and influences people’s daily lives.

‘Stunning Science @ UWS’ was held at the Paisley Campus on Thursday 6th. June. At the event children were given the chance to carry out experiments with enthusiastic researchers to find out how science makes a difference in the world of forensics, zoology, bioscience, health and sport.

The action-packed afternoon involved finding out about misbehaving bones; making fingerprint keyrings; meeting marine creatures and taking a scientific look at bubbles and bath bombs and much more. Julie Edgar, Dean of the School of Health and Life Sciences, UWS said:

“We were delighted to once again partner with Glasgow Science Festival to bring this exciting event to the university. The local children who came along had immense fun interacting with all the different activities and were given excellent insight into the fact that science is all around us!”

UWS’ School of Health and Life Sciences is hosting a second Glasgow Science Festival event at its award-winning Lanarkshire Campus on Thursday 13th June from 4pm to 7pm which is free to attend but you should register. To book simply visit:
