Walk a Mile for Mental Health

We participated in University Mental Health Day on 7th March 2019, by staging a “Walk a Mile” event on our Ayr, Dumfries, Lanarkshire and Paisley Campuses, which resulted in over £600 being raised for mental health charities.

Feedback, at the end of each mile, was very positive, with ‘walkers’ noting that they felt ‘good after the walk’, ‘more comfortable talking about mental health’, ‘more positive’ and ‘great – alive!’

Others noted that it was ‘great to see so many people do it and get a chance to meet others’ and that they would ‘like to do something like that often and on a regular basis’.

So now the University is hosting another “Walk a Mile” event.

If would like you to join us, the next one is on Wednesday 24th April at 12.30.

Walkers should come to the main receptions at Paisley, Lanarkshire and Ayr.
