UWS School of Health and Life Sciences are celebrating the huge success of our MCA programme following their graduation last Thursday. This is a collaborative programme between UWS and NHS Boards across Scotland, with the developing role of the MCA seen as integral to maternity services as we embark on the implementation of the Scottish government ‘Best Start’ framework for maternity and neonatal services in Scotland. Our second cohort of MCA students have recently completed their initial theory block at our new Lanarkshire campus and are now out on clinical practice, supported by this group of MCA’s as well as their midwifery mentors.
Our thanks to MCA Programme Leader, Liz Miller, for sharing the picture. We wish them all the very best in their new career!
