@uwshealth We Get up and Get Moving

Many thanks to Amanda Johnstone,  Clinical Nurse Manager East Ayrshire and a Scottish Improvement Leader and Laura Haggarty, CAPA Improvement Programme Advisor from the Care Inspectorate, who is also a physiotherapist for coming along to our First Year Nurses study day at Ayr Campus to talk about the Care about Physical Activity (CAPA)  programma and #endPJparalysis. No sitting down at this lecture!

The CAPA programme is about encouraging movement and how to approach positive risk taking. The benefits this has had on people who live in care home has been quite surprising. For more information about the approach CLICK HERE.

#endPJParalysis is an NHS England campaign to encourage patients to change from their pyjamas into clothes and get up and moving around and bring an end so-called “pyjama paralysis” in hospitals. To find out why this is so important CLICK HERE

Quote of the day to inspire all our students; “You can be the change”
