Dr Rhoda Macrae one of our lecturers in Dementia working within the Alzheimer’s Scotland Centre for Policy and Practice (@AlzscotCPP) is heading off to be a Visiting Research Scholar for the autumn term at the University of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. During her two week in place visit from 25 September until 7th October Rhoda will be meeting with faculty members to discuss collaborative research opportunities that build on and extend the School’s current international research exploring dementia in prisons. During the visit Rhoda will present innovative dementia awareness raising work being carried out by Alzheimer Scotland and HMP Shotts at an International Conference on Custody and Caring. She will also present at public lectures, the award winning pre-registration dementia education that includes Class in a Bag and a lecture which will focus on the rights based approach to dementia policy, practice and education in Scotland.
