Careers Fair for our Nursing and Midwifery Students a Resounding Success

Over 450 students from across the School of Health, Nursing and Midwifery attended the School’s Health, Nursing and Midwifery Careers Fair at Paisley Campus on Tuesday 30th May 2017. The 34 exhibitors there included NHS Scotland, nursing agencies, national and local government agencies, and private healthcare providers.

Karen Wilson, Dean of the University’s School of Health, Nursing and Midwifery commented

“We are delighted with the positive response we have received from our students and exhibitors to this extremely successful event. I wish to express gratitude and acknowledge the amount of work to create this excellent opportunity to meet prospective employers and gather information on careers.”

Feedback Survey responses from the event were very positive from students and exhibitors alike, with a number of students securing employment on the day and many others left the event with offers of an interview. Exhibitors commented on the efficient organisation of the event and on the quality of our students.

Last year over 98% of UWS Nursing and Midwifery graduates were in work or further Study 6 months after graduation.
