Congratulations to Professor Moira Lewitt, who has been awarded Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) via the Direct Application Route.
Moira is a strategic leader within our school who takes an integrated approach to academic practice that encourages mentorship and strategic initiatives that involve leading from all levels of the organisation, including the middle.
She is well known for her valuable contributions throughout the University including the UWS Fellowship Scheme and Pg Cert TLHE. In addition, through active membership of organisations such as the Society for Research into Higher Education and the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education (e.g. as a role model in Aurora Programmes), Moira supports many peers to influence the Higher Education sector.
In 2016, Moira was also recognised as a Fellow of the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education.
Professor Craig Mahoney said:
“Moira champions all dimensions of the HEA Fellowship framework. Not only has she positively contributed to student learning experience in the institutions in which she has worked but also nationally and internationally as a practitioner, mentor, manager and leader.
Moira has an exceptional academic and professional record of achievement and is a leading medical educator with an outstanding international profile. She is well connected internationally through her medical and science work and has been pivotal in pedagogic advances across several countries. She is highly regarded as a research leader and collaborates with colleagues in Australia, Sweden and the UK as well as elsewhere in the world.”
