The 1st of February marks International World Hijab Day which tackles discrimination of women who choose to wear hijab. the University will be celebrating World Hijab Day at our campuses in Ayr, Hamilton and Paisley. So if you have a question about Hijab or would like the opportunity to try one on. Then look out for the stalls on campus and you can decide “how do you wear yours”.
This is being organised by staff and students who wear hijab and by those who support the rights of women to wear the hijab. This has been a unique opportunity for students from all backgrounds both local and international to come together to host this event.
If you are unable to attend or do not have a stall on your campus please support the initiative by taking a picture of #how you would wear yours? And send to firstname.lastname@example.org
A stall will be held in Ayr, Hamilton and Paisley where you can purchase a scarf or try on a hijab. This is an open invitation to all to come along and support us on the day – please drop in between 11 am – 1pm. #howdoyouwearyours?@uws
