Sue Pembrey Award Nomination for "My Home Life" Associate


Graham Kelly, the General Manager at Bupa’s Hillview Care Home in Clydebank has received  a nomination for the coveted Sue Pembrey Award 2016, which recognises clinical leaders who play a vital role in creating person-centred cultures within which everyone  can flourish.

Graham is an associate of the My Home Life programme for care home managers which is led by Professor Belinda Dewar of the School of Health, Nursing and Midwifery. He has worked closely on this project with UWS since 2013 and on other staff training initiatives developed within our School prior to this.

My Home Life (MHL) is a UK-wide initiative to promote quality of life for those living, dying, visiting and working in care homes for older people through relationship-centred and evidence based practice. The national MHL programme is led by City University (Research Group on Quality of Care for Older People) in collaboration with Age UK. It has the support of the Relatives and Residents Association and all national provider organisations that represent care homes across the UK. In Scotland the programme is led by UWS’s School of Health Nursing and Midwifery in partnership with Age Scotland and Scottish care
