The purpose of the conference was to share the key outputs from this collaborative EU supported project which aims to create a range of practice based and experiential online learning resources to support carers of people in the advanced stage of dementia. The resources these include four new accredited educational modules in advanced dementia care and Community of Practice for people interested in this field of care across Europe which can be found at http://dementia.uws.ac.uk/
These new evidence based educational resources are designed to support practitioners to take a new positive practice approach to supporting people with advanced dementia.
Delegates also discussed their ambitions to create a virtual International Dementia Academy to further support the dementia workforce to champion evidence informed improvements to advanced dementia care and family caring.
This conference reflects UWS internationalisation agenda and the Dean’s commitment to delivering an outstanding experience for the School’s research students. The picture sbove shows UWS PhD students, Samuel Quinn and Debjani Gangopadhyay with other PhD students from across Europe.
