Bryan Mitchell, a self-funded PhD student in the Institute of Healthcare Policy and Practice, successfully completed his PhD transfer event last week.
Professor Debbie Tolson said: “This extends the ongoing partnership UWS and Alzheimer Scotland and we are delighted that Bryan’s research and contribution to new knowledge in advanced dementia is being recognised.”
Lindsay Kinnaird from Alzheimer Scotland added: “Bryan’s research study is of key interest in supporting people with advanced dementia. The potential of non-invasive therapeutic approaches to respond to stress and bring comfort to the person is an important area for exploration. Alzheimer Scotland are delighted to continue to support Bryan as he progresses through his doctoral training programme.”
