Vice Chair of Alzheimer's Europe to Speak at Public Event in August

The second engagement event to be hosted by the Alzheimer Scotland Centre for Policy and Practice at the Caird Building in Hamilton will also take place on Thursday 13th August

This will be an Inaugural Lecture delivered by Visiting Professor Iva Holmerová , of the Charles University, Prague.

Iva Holmerová is the Chair of the Czech Alzheimer Society, which she co-founded in 1997. A practicing physician since 1981, she is qualified in General and Geriatric Medicine and also holds a PhD in Social Gerontology. She is also the Director of the Czech Centre of Gerontology (since 1992), the President of the Czech Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics (since 1997) and a committee member of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG) since 1997. She is an Associate Professor of Humanities at Charles University (Prague) and was named Visiting Professor at the University of the West of Scotland just last year.

Iva has been a Board member of Alzheimer Europe since 2008 and Vice-Chairperson since 2010.

Although the event is free you must book in advance at the Eventbrite site that you access using the event information. We are particularly keen that community/voluntary/carer groups and local/small businesses come along to these events and the Centre have asked staff to share this information among their wider networks.
